Liza Nebel, COO and Co-founder of BlueOcean, was named a Finalist in the Most Innovative Woman of the Year – Business Services category in the 19th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner in the program.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 100 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year.

Finalists were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world, working on seven juries. Their scores will also determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award placements that will be revealed at the 19th annual awards dinner and presentations in Las Vegas.

Liza has established herself as one of the foremost experts in brand and marketing strategy in the world. A San Francisco Business Times’ “Top 100 Women Business Owners” honoree, she’s built a career working with companies such as Microsoft, Visa, Chevron, American Express, and, most recently, BlueOcean, the company she co-founded in 2019.

With over 15 years of ad agency experience, Liza was able to understand the importance of brand health while witnessing the challenges and inefficiencies due to poor measurement approaches and lack of insights.  This unique perspective led Liza and her co-founders to establish BlueOcean and pioneer the category of brand intelligence.  As the President & COO, she has led the company in closing $15 million in Series A and $30M in Series B funding, and has secured its current status as the industry leader in AI-driven brand strategy. Today the company serves 84 global brands including Microsoft,  Amazon, T-Mobile, Cisco, Bloomingdales, and Juniper Networks — representing $18 trillion in market value.

In an industry where a disproportionate 24% of  C-level or senior titles are held by women, and an even smaller 14% of founders are women, Liza recognizes her responsibility to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for others.  She has spearheaded the company’s DEI initiatives to ensure BlueOcean is a representative workplace, even as the team has quadrupled in size in just 2 years.  The BlueOcean board also demonstrates this focus, with women making up 60% of its members.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Friday, November 11. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S.A and several other countries are expected to attend. The event will be broadcast on Livestream.
