What is a Blue Score?

The Blue Score is an index score which represents your overall brand health.  BlueOcean uses an index score to help you measure your brand within the context of your competitors because,  much like the ocean, your brand exists within an ecosystem which is always impacted by world events, competitor movements, and audience shifts.  To make truly confident decisions, we cannot measure your brand in a vacuum without accounting for the ecosystem impact. 

While you’re exploring Brand Navigator you’ll notice that we show index scores first within metrics.  In some cases, we have also included the ability to toggle between your index and the underlying count which informs the score.  Index scores are determined through a methodology which standardizes your performance against competitors in your cohort.  For a given metric it is a number between 1-200 (with 100 being the average).  These index scores ladder up to your composite Blue Score.
